Grant Morris, ASE Certified Master Mechanic

Automotive Repair, Welding & Fabrication Wasilla, Alaska 907-355-4927

Qualifications

ASE Master Certified Automotive Diagnostic and Repair Mechanic

An ASE Master Mechanic Certificate includes all of the following:

  • A1 Engine Repair
  • A2 Automatic Transmissions/Trans axles
  • A3 Manual Drive Train and Axles
  • A4 Suspension and Steering
  • A5 Brakes
  • A6 Electrical/Electronic Systems (there is a difference between the two)
  • A7 Heating and Air Conditioning
  • A8 Engine Performances
  • Diesel/Heavy Equipment Master Technician
  • Welding & Fabrication

All of the above certificates are valid until 2011.  All certificates must be current in order to contribute to the Master Mechanic Certification.  It is important for consumers to understand what an ASE Certified Mechanic is so that they can shop wisely for their services.  It is common for shops to post certificates held by their mechanics.  But it is important for you to know if the mechanic who is working on your vehicle is certified for what he is doing to your car.  A young or starting out mechanic may be certified in suspensions, steering, and brakes.  But if he is not certified in anything else, you should consider and investigate whether or not he is qualified for the work you need.  Another common mistake shops make is leaving expired certificates up on the wall.  This is misleading, and often not noticed by consumers.  Please pay attention to these details, when you are shopping for a mechanic.
